About Maxdi Art

Maxdi Art is an initiative of Maxdi Inc dedicated to the production, exhibition, and stewardship of contemporary artworks that bridge research, technology, and material practice.

From Spring 2021 to Spring 2023, Maxdi Art operated publicly as Maxdi Gallery at 412 West Broadway in SoHo, New York, during a critical period of the city’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. The gallery served as an exhibition space and community platform supporting artists, designers, and art-adjacent businesses impacted by prolonged closures and economic disruption.

Today, Maxdi Art continues this mission through curated physical works, limited editions, and research-originated art practices—maintaining a long-term commitment to cultural contribution, responsible production, and support for the creative communities that shape New York City.

Why SoHo

SoHo emerged as a defining site of contemporary art when artists transformed industrial lofts into hybrid spaces for living, making, and exhibiting work. As chronicled in The Lofts of SoHo, this shift reshaped cultural production in New York City. Maxdi Art’s presence in SoHo aligned with this legacy—supporting artists and creative communities during a moment of urban recovery and transition.

Why Physical Space Still Matters

Physical space anchors art in lived experience. It allows work to be encountered at scale, in light, and in relation to bodies and architecture—conditions no screen can replicate. For artists and communities, physical spaces also create continuity: places where dialogue, mentorship, and cultural memory accumulate over time. Maxdi Art treats space not as a backdrop, but as an active participant in artistic and civic life.
